The Umrah visa allows its holder to complete the small pilgrimage (Umrah), it is issued throughout the year except during the period of the Hajj and the following 6/7 weeks. Usually count 2 months after the Hajj for Umrah visas to be issued again.
As for the Hajj visa, the Umrah visa cannot be issued directly to the Embassy of Saudi Arabia, hence the need to go through a travel agency approved by the embassy (a simple search on the internet allows you to find them).
It should be noted that Tunisian candidates for the small pilgrimage for a second time will now have to pay a visa fee of 2000 Saudi rials (1200 dinars) if they have already completed the Umrah in the last three years.
The necessary documents for Visa Umrah:
- Passport (minimum validity 8 months from the date of departure).
- Three passport size ID photos.
- Vaccine booklet: the vaccination for the trip of El Umrah is made at the Pasteur Institute of Tunis from Monday to Friday from 8am to 1pm.
- Photocopy of the ID card.
- Excerpt from the husband’s death certificate for widowed ladies.
- Unmarried women under the age of 45 must travel with a Mahram (son, Brother, Uncle, Father, Grandfather, Nephew).
- Married women over the age of 45 travelling alone must submit an authorization from their husbands.
- A male “Mahram” (father, older brother, uncle, grandfather) must accompany children (under 18 years of age).
- Single woman not accompanied by a « Mahram charai » must be at least 45 years old.
- Woman not wearing her husband’s name and traveling as a couple must provide a copy of her marriage certificate.
Message from the Pasteur Institute for travelers of El Umrah to consider:
“Following the arrival of a very large number of travellers coming to be vaccinated for El Umrah, the Pasteur Institute of Tunis (IPT) wishes to provide the following information in order to inform Tunisian citizens wishing to be vaccinated.
Firstly, the closure of the various services responsible for vaccination for travellers in El Umrah, which depend on the regional delegations, resulted in a significant increase in the number of travellers (almost 400 per day) presenting to the IPT for vaccination, many of whom come from different cities across the country. The Pasteur Institute in Tunis is currently the only place in Tunisia where travellers to El Umrah can be vaccinated.
The IPT can vaccinate 250 people a day, which requires people who have not been vaccinated to come the next day. For this, the vaccination service, will give them a ticket that they must present by returning the next day”.
